DL Some Enchanted Evening

I ended up with horrible bubbles on yesterday's mani, because I started too late and was in a rush trying to go to bed. So is the life of a polish addict. I couldn't stand it, so I had to redo them again. Today, I decided to try Deborah Lippmann's Some Enchanted Evening. It's a gorgeous champagne pink glitter polish. There are 2 sizes of glitter in it- some super tiny and some average size. I wasn't in the mood for a total all over glitter, I put Ulta's Freshwater Pearl underneath, and just used 3 sparse coats of the DL. Here's how it turned out!

Cotton Candy mani

I wanted to try out some of my new polish, so I did a mani using Essie Splash of Grenadine and topped it with China Glaze Afterglow. Splash of Grenadine is a really pretty and pretty unique pinky-purple color. Don't ask me about the name, since it looks nothing like Grenadine. Lol. Afterglow is a gorgeous warm sheer color with a blue flash. I think this came out looking like Cotton Candy.

Blue flash! See it?
And of course, I can't have naked toes. They are dressed up with Zoya Sookie which is the most perfect summer red I've ever seen. Love it! Zoya scores again!

Ulta Haul

Went to Ulta today... Yay! Here's what I got.

Make-up haul: Urban Decay Naked Palate, Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero (aka black), Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion in black, and Covergirl Outlast Lipstain marker in Flirty Nude.

Nail polish haul: Essie Angora Cardi, Essie Smooth Sailing (so shimmery in the bottle!), Essie Splash of Grenadine, OPI Melon of Troy, China Glaze Below Deck, and China Glaze Afterglow.

Best of all, I had a 20% off your entire purchase, including prestige cosmetics and sales so I ended up with around $30 off all this stuff!

Well, hi there.

Sorry I've been a bit MIA. I've been on vacation this last week, and took a little break from updating the blog. But no fear, I'm back now! Planning a big Ulta trip soon (hopefully tomorrow) so I'll have some new goodies to show ya! :)

More love for BL

Are y'all sick of Butter London's yet? I went to Ulta yesterday and picked up Marrow, which is a dark purple color. I was really looking for the OPI Miss Universe collection, but I didn't see any hint of it. Not even an empty display. Also, in the Ulta flyer, I was aware they were having a special... BL's "No More Waity, Katie" (named in honor of the Royal Wedding) and a small thing of their nail polish remover for $15. Great deal considering the polish alone is $14. I dilly-dallied after getting the flyer, so when I made it to the store a week later and didn't see anything special by the BL display, I figured they were sold out. So I took Marrow to the cash register, paid, was walking the rest of the way down the counter towards the door, and I SAW IT! So I grabbed it, ran back, and had the girl ring that up for me too. ;)

So I did my mani with W8ty K8ty. It's a gorgeous dusty purple-ish blue, with lavender glitter in it. I did 3 coats. You could probably get away with 2 though.

And here is my pedi with Marrow!

In Memory of Caylee

We are all saddened by the death of Caylee Anthony, and shocked and disgusted at the outcome of the case that would have brought her justice. In memory of Caylee, a group of my polishing friends and I are painting our nails purple, Caylee's favorite color, today Thursday, July 7th. If you would like to join in you can do so on our Facebook event page here and/or post it on your own blog if you have one!

For my mani, I used Zoya Zara. I've featured this polish on my blog before, but it is just perfect to use in honor of Caylee. Purple, her favorite color, and gold flash, as she was a golden child who the world only 'knew' for a flash of time. But we will always remember her, and hopefully something good will come from this situation to help other children who are in danger be helped.

Rest in peace sweet little girl.

Happy 4th of July!

It's after midnight here in Texas, so Happy 4th of July to all you American sixers! I started to do a glittery red, white, and blue, thing on my nails and ended up hating it. So, I wiped it all off and replaced it with Butter London Chancer, which is still very festive. I decided to go matchy this time, and do my toes the same.

Remember, there is less than 24 hours left to enter my giveaway! Make sure you don't miss out!

So Much for that Budget...

So, normally, I set an under $10 a bottle spending limit on my polishes, because hey- I'm a nanny not a rocket scientist. Well, my birthday is coming up and I have been splurging a bit more, like on the Butter London I posted the other day, and today's lovely polish... Deborah Lippmann's Glitter In The Air!

So far, I think GITA is well worth my $18. It's goregous. It's a sheer polish, so I prepped with SecheBase, and then did two coats of Essie Main Squeeze to build it up some. (No pictures of that, but I posted it before here.) Some other bloggers have posted that it's difficult and takes a lot of layers to get a good coat of glitter on your nail with GITA, but I only needed 2 coats, and I'm happy with the glitter ratio. Very different from when I tried to do a mani with Nicole's Love Your Life, which was such a disaster I didn't even post it. I kind of think LYL is junk, but you didn't hear that from me. ;)

Today I also recieved another DL- Some Enchanted Evening, and two polishes from a swap- SC Mint Apple and Icing Tiger's Blood. I also have another Butter London on the way! So stay tuned for all of that excitement and of course the announcement of the winners of my giveaway in just a few days!

And now for the DL Glitter In The Air mani that I will be wearing to my friend Sydney's wedding this weekend. :)
